For the campaign “A guate Gschicht” (“A good story”), we brought real customers of Niederösterreichische Versicherung in front of the camera together with their insurance advisers.

Insurance is a difficult subject for advertising. Everyone promises security, everyone promises service. It only becomes credible when it is told by someone who has experienced it first-hand.

That is exactly what this campaign is about: the moments when a contract becomes a relationship. Told by the people who lived them, in their own words and in their own places.

The idea behind the testimonial campaign

Niederösterreichische Versicherung stands for closeness: advisers you know personally and who come round when it matters. We didn't want to claim this promise, we wanted to show it.

That is why every story always features two people: a customer and their adviser. Together, they tell how they met, what connects them and why an appointment turned into something more.

The title says it all. “A guate Gschicht” is exactly the kind of thing you tell at the local inn: honest, a little bit personal and with a punchline that sticks.

Stories you couldn't make up

We filmed where the stories happened: on the farm, in the kitchen of a Heuriger wine tavern, in the boiler room, in the garden and in front of a newly completed home.

One example that stands for the whole campaign: an adviser arrives at a farm for a first appointment. Before anyone even mentions insurance, the drinking trough in the cowshed breaks. He lends a hand. The contract is only signed once the water is flowing again.

It is moments like these that make the difference. An adviser who knocks on the door and stays, even when the job at hand is a different one. That explains closeness better than any slogan.

Our approach: interview instead of script

Real people are not actors, and they shouldn't have to be. Instead of handing out lines, we had conversations. Open questions, time to tell the story, the patience to let silence sit. The second answer after a pause is almost always the real one.

The imagery follows the same attitude. No paperwork, no contract signing, no office. Instead: coffee on the bench outside the house, a look across the farmyard, shared laughter in the kitchen. Warm, natural light and calm camera work give the people space.

As early as pre-production, we visualised every story with AI-assisted mood frames. This meant that the client and the team knew exactly how each scene should feel before the first day of shooting.

Conclusion

A testimonial campaign only works if you believe the people in it. With “A guate Gschicht”, Niederösterreichische Versicherung shows what “Nähe verbindet” (“closeness connects”) really means in everyday life: not in words, but in stories.

Thank you to all the customers and advisers who opened their doors and their stories to us.
