viSIeonärinnen – Damen und Heer
For the TV documentary series viSIeonärinnen on Puls 4, Tunnelblick Media handled the complete post-production.
The episode was broadcast on Puls 4 on 26 October 2025. It tells the story of Austrian female soldiers and women in the Austrian Armed Forces, through emotional interviews, documentary footage and sensitive sound design that creates authenticity and closeness.
Colour grading and sound design for TV
The technical work included precise colour grading with a focus on natural skin tones and texture, as well as sound design and mixing to the European EBU R128 broadcast standards.
The final audio master was calibrated precisely to –23.0 LUFS integrated, –2.0 dBTP true peak and a loudness range of 3.6 LU. Delivery was in MXF OP1a XDCAM MPEG-2, 1080i 50 Hz, Rec.709.
Workflow: Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve
DaVinci Resolve Fairlight was used for loudness control and the final mix. All audio buses were measured in real time, and the final QC report confirmed a programme loudness of –23.0 LUFS, precisely within broadcast tolerance.
The edit was done in Adobe Premiere Pro, with the subsequent online edit and mastering in DaVinci Resolve Studio 20. A clean XML interface ensured that all timelines, audio buses and effects were transferred without loss. The final output was an MXF master file, optimised for the Puls 4 broadcast standard.
Result
The right balance of dynamics, precision and atmosphere produced a TV mix that preserves the documentary character while meeting all QC requirements for national broadcast. Another example of how technical perfection and emotional storytelling can go hand in hand.
